Zulu Wars 1879 - British Soldiers Cartridge Pouch with Zulu Bead Work
An extremely rare British soldiers cartridge pouch.
This was found on a trip to Zulu Land and brought back to Britain in the early 1950s, it's first owner (a British Soldier) could have been a casualty of the Zulu wars 1878 - 1879 (Isandlwana/Rorke's Drift).
The beadwork could signify a tribe or even a persons standing in the tribe or community, but I've not been successful in researching it.
Happy to provide additional photographs, please email me for further information.
A superb piece of memorabilia and highly prized Zulu bead work.
